Welcome back, here is the third installment of my favorite podcast with Jordan Harbinger on the ArtofCharm.com. If you haven’t seen the first two posts make sure to check out how to become clear on how people see you and confident in what you want. The idea of connection was interwoven throughout our conversation but here is a small excerpt.
Michelle: Clarity, confidence, and connection; these are the three pillars to your results. You need to be clear on what you are trying to accomplish in order to accomplish it. You need to believe that you are capable, competent; worthy of whatever it is you’re going after. And then the connection is the link to it all because relationships drive results. You need to connect to the other person as well as yourself.
Jordan: What do you mean by connection and directly? Let’s define that first.
Michelle: When I say you need to be connected, you need to be connected to your message. Say you’re going to go convince somebody of something. You’re selling your product. You’re selling yourself. You’re giving a speech. It’s the same thing, you have to like you first. You have to believe you first. You have to believe the message you’re trying to put out there to convince somebody else of it. So, there’s a little bit of the confidence, there’s a little bit of that clarity, but it’s the connections you’re making because you’re connected to something. You deliver your message in a way that is self-revealing. You share your story. You tell something personal. You put your voice and your body to it.
Connection is also always about connecting to people. Sometimes it’s not the result that that person gives you, but the fact that they know the person who can give you results and they might connect you. So when you connect with the people that you want to connect with, and you create that real relationship and that real connection and that authentic interaction, then that person is going to be open to introducing you to somebody that you need to meet. I always say, “When you’re connected and a connector, you get your result faster and easier.”

The woman on the far left in black and white is my grandmother, she understood that relationships were important in every aspect of life. Let me know in the comments if you can guess the year this was taken.
