When Done Isn’t Better Than Perfect

I’m often encouraging people, especially women, to let go of the idea of perfection.

I think perfection is a stall tactic. It’s just a fact: nothing is ever going to be exactly right. Perfect doesn’t exist – the idea is that it enables us to keep striving.

Recently I had to realize that “done” and “done well” are two different things. I wasn’t striving for perfection, but I was definitely rushing to the finish line. And I think the best is somewhere in between.

I’m talking about the launch of my upcoming book, which now has a new name… drumroll please:

The Connector’s Advantage: 7 Mindsets to Grow Your Influence and Impact

#connectorsadvantage

I was rushing to get it out and on the shelf because it feels like it’s been such a long, drawn out process, and I don’t like to keep people waiting. I’m sure you know the feeling.

In this case, I had to tell myself to “slow my roll.” I decided to go with a publishing company, and as soon as I made that choice I felt the stress melt away. Now I’m at a place where I can breathe and I can put my best into the launch process.

So good news and bad news: The Connector’s Advantage is going to be awesome, but you have to wait until March 5, 2019. But because of all of your patience and support, I will be offering a free kindle giveaway on book launch day. Mark your calendars!
