I asked and tomorrow I will get what I asked for

ask

If you’ve hung around me long enough, you’ve probably heard me say that You Have To Ask. If you don’t ask, the answer is “no,” but if you do ask, your immediately increase your odds of getting a “yes” exponentially.

Just because I say and wholeheartedly believe it, that doesn’t mean I find it easy to do. But last December, at a dinner for the Marshall Goldsmith 100 coaches, I found the courage to ask. I was sitting next to Marshall Goldsmith, and I hinted that I wanted to get my work out there further and would love to collaborate with him. Without missing a beat, he said, “That’s what I am here for, let’s do it.”

Now, my mind went where yours may have as well, I thought – was he just being nice? Maybe he didn’t mean it? That may be why it took nearly a month for me to follow up on that offer. I once again gathered up my courage and reached out to him.

His response was, “It is great to hear from you. Let’s do a video together. I can interview you.”

Well, that turned into a LinkedIn Live event which is TOMORROW!!!!

Yes, I am nervous and so excited. We went back and forth on the focus and he has some great thoughts about connection in light of the pandemic and the current polarization of our country. It is going to be a great conversation.

Tune in at 1 pm ET tomorrow, March 2, to catch the whole LIVE conversation with me and Marshall Goldsmith. He will keep me on my toes as I have no idea what he may ask.

You can watch and listen in here, and by going to Marshall’s LI page at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/marshallgoldsmith/. I hope you’ll join us!
