What Can A Change Do For You?

You have likely heard the great quote by Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher: “Change is the only constant in life.”

It’s simple and true. I’ve encountered this quote at many points during my life and my current flurry of changes, whether it is my boys entering their teens, an increase in my husband’s travel schedule, releasing a new book.

Change is hard and scary, even when it is self-determined and positive. Change is nothing if not constant. Of course, that’s the only way we would ever want it to be. Without it, there is no growth. Without growth, we never have the opportunity to become a better version of ourselves.

Change always presents a certain degree of challenge, and by overcoming that challenge we get a little wiser and see our direction a little more clearly.

Are you in a phase of transition right now? If you are, I encourage you to keep your head up and eyes open, so you can see the value that you are getting from this change. Embrace the possibility of the change. I did when I was laid off in 2001 (after crying for a bit) – and it was the best thing that ever happened to my career.

Sometimes change is the kick in the butt of life telling you it is time to do something differently.

Speaking of transition…

Memorial day made me think about all of the veterans that face the transition back into the civilian workplace. My FREE enhanced eBook, Heroes Get Hired, was developed to help veterans reintegrate into the civilian workplace. If you know of someone who is going through that transition now, please share the Heroes Get Hired with them and their spouses (for free).

Here’s to your next opportunity for change and growth!
